Tutorial: Modelling and Planning of Multi-Energy Systems

Monday, 29 June 2020
08:30 - 15:30

Chair: Keith Bell, Pierluigi Mancarella

Multi-Energy Systems (MES), whereby multiple energy carriers are optimally integrated, operated and planned, are growing of importance as key assets to foster the development of low-carbon energy systems. This tutorial introduces the general concepts and foundational modelling aspects of operation and planning of MES, including motivation and challenges for energy system integration, multi-energy power flow and optimal power flow algorithms, power system flexibility provided by MES, and detailed modelling of thermal networks and gas networks.
